About
Therapy is a space to explore the questions that matter most to you. As someone who has done—and continues to do—my own personal work, I understand what it’s like to feel stuck, disconnected, or unsure of who you are. My role is to help you navigate those experiences with steady support, curiosity, and practical reflection.

Clients often tell me they feel comfortable talking to me because they sense that I’m genuinely trying to understand them. I listen with curiosity—taking in not just your words, but your tone, facial expressions, and body language to help me understand what you're experiencing. I offer observations and reflections to help you see yourself more clearly.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked for nearly 20 years as a creative director in publishing and advertising. Over time, I realized that the part of my work I found most meaningful was mentoring young designers: helping them navigate creative blocks, imposter syndrome, and their own professional growth. I also spent time as a university professor and valued the genuine connections that teaching allowed. These experiences continue to shape how I work today. Therapy, for me, is another form of the creative process: a space for inquiry, openness, experimentation, and learning to work with what arises—even when it’s unexpected.

Mission
My mission is to help people understand themselves more deeply and live with greater ease, clarity, and connection. I believe this work is not only personally meaningful but also socially valuable. When we understand ourselves, we’re more likely to respond to others with empathy—and that kind of awareness makes the world a little more humane.

Why I Believe in Therapy
I chose to become a therapist because I know what it’s like to feel lost in your own life. Growing up in a family shaped by divorce and conflict, and navigating my identity as a gay person in the 1980s, led me to ask difficult questions early: Why do I feel this way? How can I make sense of myself when the world sends mixed messages? How do I find stability when life keeps shifting?

These questions led me to therapy, first as a client and later as a therapist. I believe in this work because I’ve experienced its impact. Therapy can help you step out of old patterns, gain clearer self-understanding, and respond to life in a way that feels steadier and more intentional.

My Approach
I use five core therapeutic approaches that work together to support healing and change:

-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Helps clarify and work with emotions as they arise.
-
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP): Focuses on body awareness and using physical cues to track and process emotional states.
-
Psychoanalytic Therapy: Helps uncover unconscious patterns shaped by past experiences.
-
Trauma Resiliency Model: Provides sensory-based tools to regulate emotion
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Offers practical tools for psychological flexibility, helping you move forward even when life feels challenging.
Each approach offers a different way of understanding your experience, and together they give us multiple ways to explore what you’re feeling and what you need.

In my sessions, I aim to be steady, engaged, and present. I listen actively and offer reflections that help you think about yourself in new ways. I sometimes share my own reactions when it helps clarify something important. When useful, I may guide you through visualizations to help you connect with inner imagery and sensations that can clarify what’s happening inside you.

Therapy with me is a space where you can be yourself—without pressure and without judgment. My role is to help you understand yourself more fully so you can live with greater clarity, freedom, and choice.
